Our cousin Derek has Dravet Syndrome (a form of childhood epilepsy for which the Dravet Syndrome Foundation is looking for a cure). We want to help Derek, his family, and others worldwide who suffer or know someone who suffers from Dravet Syndrome. We hope you enjoy it, and hope to raise lots of support for Dravet research.
The Fifth Annual Derek’s Dash for Dravet will take place on August 18, 2013 at 8:30 am at Cherry Creek Dam Road in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
Registration is $30 for adults, $20 for kids 12 and under, or a family 4-pack for $80. Can’t make it, but still want to support and get our great event t-shirt? Sign up for our Dash at Home ($25) and support our mission.
The money raised from this race will go to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation. The mission of Dravet Syndrome Foundation (DSF) is to aggressively raise research funds for Dravet syndrome and related epilepsies; to increase awareness of these catastrophic conditions; and to provide support to affected individuals and families. Dravet Syndrome Foundation was founded by a group of parents with the purpose of expediting research to find a cure and better treatments for their afflicted children. It was established in the state of Connecticut and was designated a tax-exempt public charity in the United States in October 2009 by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c)(3).
